REGIMES present at COST Action on Ocean Governance for Sustainability

Bilde av Rachel og Wenting2The European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) finances scholarly networking collaboration opportunities, and accepts proposals twice yearly and 37 countries are eligible, among these Norway. The goal is to enable scientific breakthroughs that lead to new concepts and strenghtens European resaerch capacity. The program finances workshops, conferences, and short term research exchanges among others. Research, however, is not finances, and has to be covered with internal funds or related projects.

This COST Action emphasizes developing a European (and global) network of scholars focusing on research on the governance of oceanic systems and coastlines, which is right in line with REGIMES. These are also topics that are moving into the center of European strategic and sustainability interests. Yet, it suffers from a high degree of fragmentation and the lack of a cross-scalar approach to addressing prevailing policy shortcomings. REGIMES is very happy to have been invited to be part of this action.
